I hate installing drywall. I’m talking about deep down Hate. I’d rather clean cat litterboxes, shovel manure into the tide, go to a party with people, make a doctor’s appointment, anything but drywall.
So it’s safe to say that if I resort to drywall to cover up the damaged tongue and groove ceiling, that there was simply no other way to do it.
The only thing more fun than splotching joint compound onto walls is sanding joint compound off of walls.
Moving that wall in a few inches meant that the big cabinet in the laundry room would trap the washer and dryer in the room. You’d never be able to get them out if they needed out for any reason. We had to move the cabinet out of there and put something smaller in its place, a little antique buffet. So, the room shrank, but it grew.
Cutting all that sheetrock gets a little drywall dust on everything, but if you think that’s messy just wait until the hard part.
For the athletically inclined who enjoys a good obstacle course in the morning.
And for the next five weeks everything in the house will be covered with a layer of fine white powder no matter how many times you try to clean it.
“3,400 pounds of drywall? Oh just drop it off at my house.”
“Sure, what floor?”
